Mental Math is an engaging educational game called Math Balance. It offers an interactive and enjoyable way for kids to develop their mental math skills while helping the character Toby reach home by balancing bridges.

With 30 levels, Math Balance provides ample opportunities for children to enhance their fluidity with numbers. The skills covered in Math Balance include:

• Recognizing the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., 4+5=9, 9-5=4)
• Exploring strategies that involve using only doubles or even/odd numbers to reach a specific total
• Solving one-step word problems with varying unknowns, including change unknown, result unknown, and start unknown problems
• Adding multiple two-digit numbers by applying place value strategies and properties of operations (e.g., 43 + 34 + 57 + 24 = __)
• Demonstrating addition and subtraction using concrete models
• Mentally adding or subtracting 10 or 100 from given numbers within the range of 100–900
• Fluently adding and subtracting within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value properties of operations, as well as the relationship between addition and subtraction
• Understanding multiplication as repeated addition
